Ash took advantage of the reaction of confusion to grab Brook by the arm and book it out of the church. The sudden defensiveness and mood swing from calm kindness to that was scary, especially when they had so little experience with other people. All Ash could think of was getting them out of a dead end in the church and to somewhere they could get a better vantage point. Maybe back to the garden, to find a way back, and just hoping against hope that Pa would appear in the nick of time, just like he always did.
Only it wasn't Little John who came around the corner of the building and blocked their route, it was a non-plussed Will Scarlet, he of the interrupted book, who had answered his phone to get not much in reply to his greeting except confusion and the weirdest confession of parenthood he'd heard in a long time.
"Hey hey whoa!" Will said, holding his empty hands up as the teens barreled towards him and skidded to a halt. Ash kept an arm in front of Brook, watching this newcomer and trusting that she would be watching his back. "Ain't nobody getting hurt today. Lets all take some deep breaths, yeah? No need to be haring about like startled rabbits." He glanced up to see if Tuck was coming out of the church.
