WHO: Aderyn, Iestyn, and Henry Ceredig WHEN: Sunday in Wales WHERE: ...Caernarfon (Canarvon), Wales WHAT: Oh just some bullying, a visit to a graveyard and Addy admitting a Thing WARNINGS: Homophobia and slut-shaming and talk of suicidal ideation
Being back home was strange. Caernarfon was such a small town with a population of less than 10,000 which was like whiplash after New York City, population nearly 19 million. Everybody knew everyone here, and that was why they were staying just a tiny way up the road at Meifod House. It didn't mean they weren't recognised the second they headed into town though. And gossip spread.
The second day of their stay, they had gone to the castle, which was old hat for the twins, but Henry had never seen anything like it before. He was so impressed at the size of it, and his reactions to everything were so delightful and perfect. Retiring back to the hotel afterwards and spending time with the boys- It had been so good.
Addy had begun this entire charade of acting like her old self so that Iestyn wouldn't suspect anything was wrong. She wanted to give him good memories of her before she left, and she wanted him to enjoy his wedding. Now though...now she wasn't so sure it was entirely an act. She was feeling more like herself; like the act of it had started to heal her and it wasn't just acting any more. Maybe...just maybe things were going to be okay?
On the 5th, the four of them, Evie strapped to Addy's back, headed back into the town. They were going to visit their old home because it was between tenants and Rhiannon had asked them to check in. Then they were going to head on to the graveyard and visit Bridget's grave. The trip had a solemn quality to it, not as much joking around. Though the second Addy let them all into their childhood home, she grinned.
"Look at it, Iestyn!" It was still filled with all their old furniture and the things Rhiannon hadn't thought relevant to bring with her since she had moved straight into an already furnished home. She moved aside so the boys could come in. "It's so small."
