“No- no!” Iestyn shook his head. “Which way did they go, did you see?” He strained his eyes, looking both ways up and down the street, pushing his hands into his wet hair. “Oh God, Henry!”
David followed Addy up a little slower, bouncing Evie and patting her back in an attempt to soothe her. They’d all feel less stressed without shouting to be heard over Evie’s wails. “Aderyn? What happened?” he asked, a lot calmer and more rational than Iestyn, even though his heart beat faster for worry. “Take a breath and start from the beginning. Tell me everything you remember.”
