"No, I'm actually closer," Tuck let her know. "I'm at Robin's. Are you talking about Erato?" She lived on 34th street. Just a second, I have to ask Rob something. Rob!" Tuck jogged up the stairs, where Robin was in the kitchen, bouncing Evie in his arms. Tuck pulled the phone away from his ear, though he left it on.
"Hey, Rob. You busy? Ariadne needs me to do a B&E."
Robin chuckled and he said, "well I am about to go see a Man about a Thing. Sorry, mate."
Tuck groaned. "So my choices are Evie goes with me for crime, or she goes with you for crime." No one else was home!
"I dint say nowt about mine being crime." Robin said, looking offended, though he was clearly amused.
"It's you. It's crime," Tuck shot back.
"Well I reckon you only got one choice, really. Know what they say, right? Start 'em young?" He stepped over to Tuck and with his free hand, he pulled Tuck close and kissed him on the forehead. When he had pulled back, Evie was somehow in his arm instead. Tuck's knees went weak for a second, and he blew out a breath of air.
"Your uncle's a smooth bastard," Tuck informed Evie, and then he pulled the phone back to his ear. "Robin just kissed me so I'm bringing Evie with me. Don't ask me how, but that definitely adds up. I can still pick a lock with a baby strapped to my chest." This was fine, right?
