WHO: Makaria & Persephone WHEN: Sunday afternoon WHERE: Hades' manor WHAT: No more avoidings
Persephone had locked herself away in her room since she'd returned to Hades, but Makaria was perfectly alright with that. Persephone hiding made it easier for Makaria to keep away from her. She was still afraid after the last time she'd seen her, too unused to cruelty from her family.
She she crept around the house as silently as she could and kept to herself. That was, until Sunday afternoon when she stepped out of the library and found Persephone just outside.
Makaria paused in the doorway, unsure of what to do now. She didn't take her eyes off the woman who had always acted as mother to her.

She was bored and desirous of new reading material, which was where Makaria found her, skimming the shelves in Hades' library. She felt eyes on her, and she turned, immediately flashing her almost-daughter a shy smile in return for her gaze.
"Makaria," Persephone said, her voice immediately apologetic. She had a half-memory of something that had occurred between herself and Makaria last year. An occurrence that had not ended well.

Persephone had only ever been kind and good to her, but she'd hurt her the last time. Makaria had never been hurt by anyone before. No one had ever wished her harm in her centuries of life.

[info]gravegarlands 2011-11-28 09:21 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Makaria didn't like seeing Persephone upset like this. She just wanted her parents to be happy together, especially when they had so little time. She wanted only to comfort Persephone now that she saw the Iron Queen was once again the goddess she knew.
"I forgive you," Makaria told her, taking a few tiny steps towards her. "It wasn't your fault, and I know you didn't mean to."

And if I ever frighten you, please find your father and tell him. He'll take care if it if the situation calls for it. I would never want to hurt you, my darling."

[info]persephoneie 2011-11-28 09:40 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I missed you too, my dear girl," she said, wrapping her arms around Makaria. One of the reasons she had wanted to stay last winter was to be with the girl. She hated being dragged away from her. But if the cost was becoming someone Makaria feared, it wasn't worth it. "But I'm here now."
