"I do know what you mean," Armaan said, nodding. It had been different for him. When he was young, his mother had been a different person. Still strict, yes, but his father had helped quell some of that too. After he was gone, their mother was all that was left. And yes, Armaan did everything he could, but he didn't make the rules. And their mother had lost so much, Armaan could understand why she took a firmer stance with the girls. He didn't necessarily agree, but he could see where it came from.
And he wasn't about to try to guilt Arya into coming either. When had guilt ever actually worked as a tactic, long term? "You give it all the time you need. We'll be there."
