Tuck cheersed and he took a sip, happily grinning at the taste of it. "Oh my word," he breathed. "I apologise for what is going to happen after this, Will. But I can't even be sorry," he said, taking another hasty drink.
They moved to playing cards then, laughing and chatting as they played game after game. Their mugs empty beside them. Eventually, while they were in the middle of a rummy game, the flap sounded again, and Tuck made a sound of wonder. "F-fish and chips?" he gasped, and he stood to retrieve it.
"Scarlet asked specifically," Malcolm said, pushing a little container of malt vinegar through the flap too.
