Will growled, frustrated with how easy that had been. Sure Nottingham had attacked him before but not usually this hard. The grip he had of his arm was painful, and Will couldn't move at all.
There were footsteps in the hallway, and a few moments later, Will peered up to see John stopped in the doorway. He looked around the room with a vaguely interested expression. "Yes, you really get more of the vibe when you can smell it," he said, as if in response to something they'd been talking about earlier. Then he leaned down to look Will in the face. "Hello William. You're looking terrible."
Will's breath hissed through his teeth and he jerked against Nottingham's grip, but he was held fast.
"And the dear old Friar! We do have fun together, don't we?" He winked at Will and straightened up. "It has occurred to me that I haven't come to welcome you yet, William. I wanted to give you a chance to settle in. How're the ribs?"
"Fuck off," Will growled, and John nodded at Nottingham to pull his grip tighter.
