Jesse looked at the closed door for a long moment, before turning back to Adrian. "God knows I want to," he said, sighing heavily. "I mean-he's a nice enough guy, or at least he was, when I knew him. And I'd love to not have to work 40-plus hours a week at a shitty job for even shittier pay. Even though this feels like a scene from Pretty Woman, it's like you said-I'm running out of reasons not to take him up on it."
Isaiah nodded from his spot at Jesse's elbow. "I mean, if nothing else, we could go outside," he said dreamily. "I haven't seen the sun anywhere other than a window for years. Hell, I miss a breeze on my skin. And Jay's so skinny I'm afraid he'll snap right in half one day."
