"Last time was over two years ago, and it wasn't even for me, the little ones had the flu," he said, shrugging. "Had to fake symptoms to get antibiotics."
"Ade, don't be rude," he said wearily. "And we're not fine, we haven't been for a while. No use starting to lie to ourselves now."
Isaiah perched on a chair and eyed Nicholas. Jesse seemed to trust him, and Isaiah trusted Jesse, but he still didn't know anything about this new man. So he kept silent.
"I think the answer to that is 'always'," Jesse answered wryly. "Four teenage boys, two that are growing like weeds, we're always hungry."
