Who: Jesse & Jayden Delacroix
What: Jesse comes back to finally right all the wrongs his father has done
When: Modern times. Basically, imagine the time frame this thread takes place in, subtract Nicholas & JJ, and add a heaping helping of Jesse's righteous fury.
Where: Baton Rogue, LA
Warnings: Discussion of assaults, violence, murder (The Delacroix boys are going dark side, basically.)
Jesse had left Louisiana eight years earlier, swearing up, down, and sideways that he'd never return. And for eight years, he'd kept that promise. He tried to keep in touch with Jayden and make sure he was alright, but that was spotty at best. Sometimes, he went for months at a time without hearing a word.
But today, he'd woken up to a message on his phone. It was time/date stamp was last night, but in the middle of the night. And it was a Louisiana area code, but not a number he recognized. Curious, he accessed his mailbox and played the message back.
"Jesse, it's me, it's Jayden," came his brother's hushed voice. "I know it's late and you're probably asleep, but I just-I had to tell you. Maybe you can help." There was a pause, broken only by what Jesse assumed was the wind in the background.
As soon as he heard the words, "Father's been hitting me when he gets angry. For-for a while now," he saw red. "I had to wait til he was asleep, then sneak out to find a pay phone to call you. But it's-it's getting really bad, and I'm tired of being covered with bruises."
Jesse missed the rest of the message; he was too busy throwing all of his possessions into his bag. He got on his motorcycle and rode all the way back to Baton Rogue, only stopping for a few hours to sleep at a cheap motel. He rolled into town under the cover of darkness, taking the familiar route back to his childhood home. All the lights were out except for one, and his father's car wasn't in the driveway.
He steered his bike around to the back of the house, then shimmied up the drainpipe to the second story. He'd gone the opposite direction so many times, sneaking out to meet people, and it came back to him easily.
He slowly peeked around to glance in the window, and upon seeing that it was indeed Jayden, he rapped lightly on the glass with his knuckles, hoping he wouldn't scare his brother too badly.
