Jamie nodded. "I was wondering the same thing," he said. "And I think what it boils down to is me being selfish. I don't want to have to tell him goodbye, and then basically stand back and watch him die. I don't want to have to wake up and know that he won't be there. But at the same time...he's clearly in pain, and I'd feel even worse for keeping him here. Because it's not fair to him." He sighed and swiped at his eyes. "I know what I should do," he said. "But that doesn't mean I want to."
