Watching Thomas' decline had been beyond horrible. He had been reliant on machines to feed him for years now, not to mention most everything else. He had lost control of his tongue and he found it difficult to speak. Even then, he didn't recognise anyone most of the time. He tended to light up when Jamie was around, but it was hard to tell if that meant he knew who Jamie was, of if Jamie was now just cast in the role of 'safe person'.
Pneumonia was currently ravaging Thomas' system, which was why he was currently stretched out in a hospital bed. He had socks on his hands to keep him from scratching himself or anyone else.
Lena chewed on her lip and she glanced over at Jamie as Thomas had another deep coughing fit. He didn't sound good.
