WARNINGS: tba?
For Greta, the world had always been a difficult place to navigate. Social rules were things she had to obey, moral rightness had to be upheld.
But when everything fell apart and the Antichrist took over, Greta had found that those rules had no longer been so clear cut. Moral black and whites had all gotten a little grey, and Greta had retreated to the safety of the forests, joining the wolves there. It worked. People didn't bother them in the woods. She missed her family but she couldn't stay in the city with them, not in this new world.
She didn't remain outside the city at all times though. She went into the city to find food more suitable to her needs, to find medicine, to get new clothes, and sometimes just because she felt she was needed. Once upon a time Fairytales had shown her what it was to be the woodcutter, to protect the innocent at all costs. In this darker world that role seemed even more important and Greta walked the city streets with an axe and a red cloak.
Today they made their home in an abandoned factory, preferring to trek the distance between city and forest by cover of night. She sat on the cement floor running a comb through her tangled hair with a small amount of frustration. She should have cut it off, or just let it grow into the matted mess it wanted. But somehow this felt like a part of her humanity she wanted to keep, to remain groomed and presentable, if only to pass out there among other humans.
