The man fought back, which Joey expected. He wasn't exactly sure how fighting worked, but he was determined to win. He needed that steak.
Joey caught a punch to the side and then the other man tripped him. He spilled to the floor, but he brought the other guy with him. They tussled and after being punched in the face, everything went red. The man he was fighting with ceased to be a human. He was just an obstacle.
Filled with adrenaline, Joey fought. He slammed the heel of his hand into the man's nose and then he managed to straddle him. Over and over he slammed his fist into the man's face until the man stopped moving.
Joey stood, shaking and sore. His knuckles were split and he already had bruises blooming on his skin. But he had won, if only because the person he had chosen to fight had about as much idea of how to fight as Joey did.
