By the time she had gotten to the hospital, Darerca had lost a significant amount of blood and she could feel herself on the verge of losing consciousness. She lasted until she was admitted to A&E and she didn't wake up until hours later.
She was in a recovery room where a stern-looking doctor informed her that the surgery had gone well and she would be fine. He also informed her she should report the incident to the police. They had been informed and would be stopping by when she had recovered a bit more. Darerca was not pleased to hear that and she was pretty sure she would need to get out of the hospital before then.
The doctor left her alone and Darerca lifted her arm to cover her face. Her abdomen hurt and it was worse knowing it was her brother who had done it. Her room was dark and lonely, she was drugged up, and there was nothing to keep her from breaking down and so she did. She covered her face and cried, despite the pain it caused.
