Who: Poseidon and Triton (open to Rhode, Kymopoleia, Amphitrite and Thetis) What: Pirate Ship Poseidon! Complete with pet giant squid! His squid fantasies are even impossible to ignore in AU as they come across a cargo vessel. When: Golden Age of Piracy Where: Caribbean Warnings: Could be anything with this crew...
Pirating was not a new hobby for Poseidon. He felt a kinship to these men that had been trolling the seas since the days of early Greece in the Bronze Age. They had advanced but were no less ruthless than the days of the early Sea People. Poseidon among them could be an ally or a nightmare. He hunted smaller ships for the sheer pleasure of it, tackled larger vessels to destroy anyone that crossed his path. His own ship was a large, well-armed ship of English design, ghostly in it's appearance that scared off any neighboring ships. She was fast with a square-rigged galleon, armed and race-built. She was easily 24-feet wide, and 80 feet long with at least close to twenty guns of different sizes, and sails of red as in old times the Greeks looked upon red as a sign of hierarchy, rulers on board. Scripted on it was a trident which indicated who he was in the pirate world.
Mortals were still too stupid to think that he was the 'real' Poseidon, but the name struck enough fear through them to keep away from his ship. Most vessels were never spared of their loot, crew or bloodshed, and Poseidon was as frightful as any Blackbeard or Roberts as he once owned this massive body of water. It was his domain still, and with new myths and stories trailing the seas with seasick sailors and merchants, he was once again a larger than life figure. It was easy to slip into this new 'Poseidon' to keep fear within them. The seas were either against them or for them, and today looked questionable. There was a sick gray color to the sky, and a light fog cascading over the waters. With Triton on board there was a better chance for peace as a cargo vessel approached from the distance. But, Poseidon was a bully, he liked making men suffer for his own entertainment.
Poseidon stayed within his cabin smirk firmly set on his lips as he slapped his boots up on the table. The waters started to churn, slopping against the side of the ship. It caused the crew to grow frightened as they knew very little about their captain, most of them having been harvested from the last ship raid. What stories floated around, especially ones about deep sea monsters that haunted the ship, the men feared their life on a daily basis. Most of them had never even seen their captain, which made the mystery that surrounded him even more eerie.

Triton disliked the very art of Piracy, but he didn't have a choice in the matter. He was the eldest, and the only son. He was expected to have his own ship, and rule these waves. He was happiest beneath them, or near his mother.
He'd come aboard a while ago, the crew asking few questions and when he took the helm, they simply accepted. The oldest of the mortals saw the resemblance, but knew him to be kinder. Less blood swam in the ocean when he was near.
He saw the vessel and sighed. When the waters started to churn he set his hand around the necklace he wore. There was a small pendant of a conch, but none of the mortals knew it was his actual power. If his father refused to listen to words, he was not above using the conch.
He turned on his heel and ignored the fearful looks they gave him as he stepped into the cabin. None would dare save him. "We do not need this vessel. Our hold is already full." Which, nine out of ten, didn't matter but he wanted to drill logic into his father's brain.

Poseidon rolled an overturned cup back and forth on it's side against the table, chewing on a piece of apple when Triton appeared before him. The waters refused to quiet down, rocking the ship back and forth at an unsettling motion.
He let the cup go sailing off the table and sliced off another piece of apple from his knife.
"Who said anything about taking anything from the vessel?" Poseidon just wanted to play.

He figured that was the case. "This is unnecessary. Do what you will to those vessels that cause problems for us, and to those of which you require things from. But if you persist in harming these people for sport I will not hesitate to calm you down by force." A lot of beings, gods included, feared his father. He'd been Poseidon's messenger for too long to really fear him.
Top prove his point he removed the necklace from his neck and let the conch settle in his hand. He gave his father an even look. "Don't think I won't calm you down and then issue orders on your behalf. You let them fear you so they hardly know one thing or the other. I will have them think I am your mouthpiece, and then all of your precious cargo is suddenly donated to the next thing that catches my eye. Now again, stop this or I stop it for you."

Rhode came up on deck, long hair trailing behind her in the rising wind. She'd heard murmurs from the crew that she was bad luck to have aboard, that she was a captured mermaid that walked on land, that she was no more than a common prostitute. She ignored all of them. The only people's opinions she carried about were her family's, which is why she made her way directly to Poseidon's cabin when she saw the waters starting to churn.
"Another attack?" she asked, raising an eyebrow as she stepped inside. "We're low in the water as is, she can't hold any more."
Thetis had been hot on Rhode's heels, nearly tripping over her niece as she high-tailed it inside. "And now you're just showing off," she sighed. "Honestly, can't we just let this one go?"

When he saw his sister and Aunt, he smiled to them. "Hello Rhode. Aunt." He bowed to them before giving his father A Look. "This isn't for loot. As I have told father, I will not let him toy with these mortals out of sport."
"I am trying to convince my father of the same. Either through this," he held up the conch, "or words. Perhaps yours will aid in mine."

Poseidon laughed with an eerie cackle, that disturbed grin showing as he plopped his feet from the table. "Is this an intervention?" He poured a goblet of wine, stalking across the table.
If they didn't let him appease his lust for destruction, someone on board would pay the price. He swallowed the wine, lips pursed with a chuckle.

From one of the ropes on the mast Kymopoleia slid down onto the deck, boots hitting the wood heavily as she eyed the other ship. "Slit them from bow to stern," the girl hissed with a grin.
She was a slight figure, Poseidon's second daughter. She lacked the curves of the other two women on deck and clad in men's clothes she passed easily among them as a beautiful boy, spikes of her cropped black hair falling across her bright eyes as she turned to look at her father. She had little interest in dealing with the lusts of pirates and it had suited her for a long time to pretend to them that she was a son and not a daughter.
