Wanted to apologize for how quiet I've been, what with my other two mods gone. My week ended up a lot busier than I'd anticipated, and yesterday left me dead. However, I'm here now and will be getting to modly duties either today (after my mom's done dragging me around) or tomorrow.

Any apps will have to wait until Meg's return on the 2nd, as we need at least two mods to discuss them.

Okay, so. In about 15 minutes, I'm leaving for a weekend without reliable internet access (or electricity for that matter...)

Monday is a huge political rally, and Wednesday I do my cross-continental migration.

So for all intents and purposes, I will be without intarwebs until June 5th at the earliest. For I will for sure be back June 7th, from a location with internet in the evening!

Hi all,
I'm sorry no-one was able to make it to the group chat organised over a week ago for last Sunday afternoon/evening/Monday morning. I was looking forward to getting a feel for what people had in mind re plotty type things, the life-blood of any active RPG.

I'd love to hear more about what the House of Spades is/was originally formulated to be, and what it's perceived place/role is. From what I can see of most characters they're not happy with the marriage lottery, so I imagine the HOS would have huge support, so was wondering if there was anything planned regarding that, and if so, would there be government and political characters to work with (or against as the case may be!)

I'm rather keen to find out as George's situation is such that if/when her bubble bursts and she's drawn out in the lottery I suspect she will go over the edge, wanting to stop the whole thing, and she isn't one who will just sit on her thumbs and say/do nothing.

So, consequences? Potential character involvement? Direction of play?

Any hints, or ideas, or suggestions, or thoughts?

As I tend to do with RPGs I'm involved in I've been putting together a spreadsheet of information on our game's characters and their muns, as a quick reference thing that helps me get my head around a new cast! Blame it on 'old-timers'!

So, here it is, briefly:

Jasper - Is in rehab. He hopes Teja will visit and he'll be able to come home to her and Sam when I return.

Jeff - Has a busy schedule of working, spending time with Grace and dodging family questions - and running most mornings with Jay, lol! ;)

Jennifer - Will be two months aka six months pregnant by the time I'm back. She'll be working some days at Kathy's store and maybe having some fun decorating her new home while spending time with Tylan.

Alex - Is trying not to worry too much, about anything. He lives in an apartment now, with a woman he will soon be divorced from. He'll be writing his high school exams and looking for a summer job. Also, hanging with his Mom, playing with the band and hanging with friends.

Lisa - Will be up to her eyeballs in trying to get the shelters better organized/protected and poking her legal people to move faster on Human Right's issues. She might like to meet Noah for lunch or something, if he has the time.

To anyone I'm RPing with or who my characters have connections with? If you can think of anything else that would flesh out their virtual existence, please let me know.

Hey guys! I'm a new player, obvs. Name's Ashley and I'm bringing with me this chicka named Jillian Barlow. For the most part, she's nosy, cheerful, and teaching the remainder of the teenagers how to do their math. But she's got a secret part of her totally hating on the dystopic government taking over, because like any girl, she's got that crazy romantic side, so be looking to some, I don't even know. Action from her? But nothing too good, because she's sort of an idiot.

Anyways, yeah. She's lived in Seattle for like, every day of her life, so any natives can throw a bone. CR, please? :3

Okay, so I'm certifiably insane. This should come as no surprise, honestly. :-)

This is Pierson, bringing in not one, but two new characters.

The first is nathan_weiss. Nathan is thirty-two, and a biological oceanographer attached to labs working in conjunction with UW. Not a teacher, but a researcher. Ask him what he's studying, and you'll glaze over in minutes. Nathan's a free spirit, cheerful and bohemian. He lives his full and varied romantic life by the 'catch and release' theory--he likes the chase, he likes the catch, but anything after that, not so much. He's very frank and unashamedly upfront about it, so don't expect for him to be the one you'll stay with.

The second is john_kuo. John moves into the slot Dr. Gil Hatayama occupied. He's thirty, an OB-GYN at Seattle Medical, married and divorced from Clara Mackey, another doctor. The marriage to Dee never happened, as she's been retconned out, though the relationship he had with Nana previous to that did. He's a serious sort, but not nearly as cold and as forbidding as he can seem.

I'll be tossing them into the ring shortly. If you'd like a thread with either, let me know. I'm at PiersonReborn on AIM, usually in stealth mode. Looking forward to threading with folks!

Hi, everyone! I'm a new player, also known as Lisa, who comes to you bringing this new char, Johanna, or Hanna, Hastings. Hanna is a lawyer who has to draw up paperwork for the slew of mandated marriages and to be honest, she's not a fan. But it pays the rent, right? Hanna is a California native who went to college in Seattle. After some pretty bad experiences in college, she moved back home to go to law school. Her job has brought her back to Seattle, though, and she's unsure how she feels about that. In any case, she's the kind of girl who works hard and parties harder! She used to date inplainclothing but the break-up was somewhat messy so if your char is close with Aaron, they might have a problem with Hanna. It is a commonly held belief that Hanna cheated on Aaron and broke his heart and she has never refuted this.

So, looking for some connections! Anyone she might have known from college in Seattle (she's 25), anyone she knows from parties then or now, or through work. Hi everyone!

We're still working out what to do with our recently abandoned characters. However, a new alternative to adopting the characters out has been presented and discussed amongst the moderation team.

Rather than taking a character already played, we will allow players to create a character similar in occupation and function and merely substitute the new for the old. For instance, as has been suggested to one player, a different doctor might be retconned to fulfill the position of Gil Hatayama.

Please comment here if you are interested in this idea.

Or at least Georgina Annabelle Lincoln! From Birch Creek, Alaska originally, but now living in Seattle with her son Callum. She's 44, has 5 kids, is widowed (all the details are on her info page as usual so you don't have to go digging for it) and loves life. :)

BC Gal, aka George, is a writer, though her novels are written under a pseudonym, but she also does freelance writing, usually feature articles - she's currently working on a piece about the victims of the bombing, so if anyone has a pup that was affected by the bombing and would like to scene drop me a line either here, or ping me on AIM on ozcmom.

Wow. I go to work for one day, do the grocery shopping, and come home to find everything has kinda done a double somersault in pike position with a twist or two! Matthew Mitchum eat your heart out! :)

I would have liked to have some participation in things, but seems things have all been settled, so will just make a suggestion that might help at least with some of the shoring up of the situation.

After conversation with Pierson I'd like to suggest, as a way for some of the 13 characters that have left, the following scenario.

Following on with the plot arc that has already started with the events at the beginning of April I'd like to suggest another bombing. I have no idea what the original plot arc was, but from what I can ascertain it appears that blame has been directed at the HOS, despite it being against their modus operandi. Another bomb blast would not only be out of character, it would be very much following that direction the game has already taken.

The bomb blast could happen in a restaurant, say a fairly large one, so it could be a very random selection of people, again something that would be in-character for the 'bombers'.

Now, looking at the characters... as an example firstly I will look at the characters directly involved with Noah (Pierson's pup who has been pretty strongly affected):

- May (married to Noah), Jason (son of May), Dan (partner of Jason), Jae-Mi (daughter of May, and already an NPC), for all four of these it could easily be said that they were attending a celebratory dinner in this restaurant for, say, Jae-Mi, which is what made Dan actually come out, Jason talking him into it, for his sister and mother - all four die

And potentially, along with, potentially, the following:
- partners Teja (mod pup) and Jasper (Jae's pup) - Teja a fatality, Jasper already in hospital?
- partners Gil (mod pup) and Dee (mod pup) - fatalities
- partners Amy (mod pup) and Hugh (mod pup) - fatalities
- Rahel (mod pup) and Alex (Jae's pup) - Rahel a fatality, Alex injured?
- Victor (mod pup) - fatality (could even be the bomber, but screwed up?)
- Clara (mod pup) and Masakazu (Meg's pup) - Clara a fatality, Masa injured?

Additionally:
- Jeb (mod pup, most active HOS member) and Tara (mod pup, also HOS member?) disappear mysteriously, police believe has gone to ground (body/bodies could be found some time later, or not?)

From what I can see it directly affects Jae, Meg and Pierson's pups (Noah, Jasper, Alex and Masakazu). Needless to say this is just a suggestion, it could be just a few are involved, or all the above, or anything.

Also, if there is any assistance needed re modding feel free to yell. :)
