This months Order Meeting took place at Sirius Black's house.

IC/OOC Order Meeting.

At the Order meeting, Caradoc Dearborn revealed that he had visited the Werewolf Registry and obtained a copy of the list of current werewolves in the United Kingdom. His intention with this list is for the Order to investigate the names on the list to see if any of the listed werewolves have joined Voldemort. However, when he read through the list (which is publicly available through the Registry in the interests of pubic safety and the citizen's right to know) he discovered something important. One of the names on the list belongs to one of their very own members - Remus Lupin.

After calming everyone down, Dumbledore assured them all that he had known of Remus' condition since Remus was eleven years old, and he is not a danger. Dumbledore then moved on to handing out assignments. Dorcas and Marlene were both asked to keep open ears and eyes while at the Ministry, for anything that seemed odd or out of the ordinary. To assure that no one, especially the Minister was under the Imperius Curse. Sirius, Remus and Peter were asked to check out some local pubs with open ears, as well as given a copy of the Werewolf Registry list, seeing as how Remus was outted, he might as well put it to use. Remus was asked to check the names on the list and attempt to get close to some of them to find out information. Emmeline was asked to be more observant at her shop, to see if she could over hear anything of use. Severus was asked to keep up with his work, in trying to find out what he can; names of Death Eaters, Voldemort's location as well as his plans.

After assignments were handed out, the meeting was concluded. For those who lingered, tea and snacks were supplied by Emmeline.

Emmeline was a bit taken back by this information about Remus. But she quickly composed herself. He is still Remus. And Dumbledore said he had been that way since he was eleven. So he is still the same person. Not wanting to make him feel any differently, Emmeline stayed behind after the meeting to do what she always does, clean and worry about everyone. She may have gotten a bit carried away with her cleaning this go around though...

Severus was there, standing stiffly and slightly separate from the group. At the revelation of Remus's state, he only smirked, having known it for a number of years without revealing it. It would make him begin to think, about how Remus lives with the systems monthly, and a thought would begin in Severus's brain-nothing he would act on in such a large group.

He would give Sirius a wide birth, and smile more kindly at Emmeline.

Dumbledore's directions would be answered with a nod, but no names as of yet; I expect he has already revealed the ones he knows at this point.

He would have got a cookie to eat, definitely.

Sirius was furious. Didn't Remus have a right to a little bloody privacy? They'd kept it a secret for years, protecting him, making him comfortable with his changes and who he was, and now all of a sudden he was an object of mistrust. Sirius wanted to kick every single one of the people judging him straight out of his house, but he had too much respect for Dummbledore.

"He's not the first bloody werewolf you lot have met," Sirius finally snapped. He'd never been much good at holding back his temper, especially when it came to Moony. The other man was his best mate, and they'd only grown closer since they'd moved in together. The absence of James as his prime confidante had also strengthened their friendship.

"And he's helped every one of you out at one point or another. Not every werewolf is a dark wizard."

Peter was ready to argue once the werewolf thing was brought up, though it's likely Sirius was the louder of the two. He was angry at Caradoc, thinking he had no business to out Remus in such a way. Peter said it was stupid to even be considered an issue and that they should just move on.

His lack of surprise on the topic might be something other Order members noticed, and it could be something to raise some thoughts about what else the Marauders could be hiding from the group.

Marlene was surprised and yet not surprised about Remus being a warewolf. Suddenly many things about their years in Gryffindor made a bit of sense. She wasn't afraid of him, and didn't think of him any differently, but Marlene is prone to looking at everyone's goodness when at all possible. She nodded calmly at her task, but she wouldn't pretend that it sounded like an exciting prospect. She shared about the muggle murder shed worked the day before, feeling much more objective about it after her talk with Em. She stayed to help Em clean, as best she could.

It was a complete shock to Remus to hear his name being mentioned in connection to werewolves at the meeting. Of course, he knew that list was public knowledge, but he didn't think anyone he knew would bother looking at it. He was frozen while it was discussed, gripping the edge of his chair tightly, terrified that he was going to get kicked out of the Order. Oh, he knew that Dumbledore would protest, as would his friends, but that didn't stop the fear that always rises up when people find out he's a werewolf.

He didn't say much - his friends said it all for him - but he did say, quietly but firmly: "I know this must come as a shock, and I'm sorry for that, but I promise you I'm not a danger to anyone. If you have any questions, please ask me. I'd be happy to answer them."

At the end of the meeting, as people were leaving, Remus disappeared upstairs into his bedroom.

Dorcas was surprised to hear about Remus, but she would have tried to wave it off and pretend it did not matter. She would have happily received the assignment and had a few snacks that Emmeline brought after and talked to a few people who remained behind.
