"Er, sure," he said, unfamiliar with this sort of situation. How was he supposed to remember which customer wanted what, if they all asked him to ring them for specific types of books. Still, one of the big things the owners of the bookshop stressed was customer service, so he didn't want to turn her away. He opened the drawer and grabbed a special order form and pen, then slid them across the counter to her.
"If you fill out your name and number, I'll do my best to keep an eye out for you. Or, if you like, we could check the stock now, see what we have. Or special order any specific book you might want."
