Sam smirked and followed Jesse into the lift. "Why does that not do much to appease my sense of doom?" he asked teasingly. He knew it wasn't actually as bad as all that, though it did make him a touch nervous.
As they left the lift, Sam zipped his coat up and put his hat on. He stuffed the gloves in his pockets and just kept his hands there, keeping them warm enough as they stepped outside. His scarf hung loose around his neck. He followed Jesse to the car, and moved to step around to the left side, halting uncertainly when he saw Jesse doing the same.
Shaking his head at himself and offering a rueful smile, he moved to the right side of the car, where the passenger seat was. He hadn't actually ridden in a car more than a few times since moving out here, and he hadn't got used to the change in seat positions yet. He opened the door and climbed in, doing up his seatbelt right away.
