Ira nodded, adjusting his glasses from where her hug had knocked them a-kilter. “Wow, that’s a lot of fun stuff. Sounds like you had a busy day.”
And then there was Theo excitedly struggling out of his father’s embrace and into Ira’s. Ira stood up hastily to catch him, then blinked at the tiny boy, trying not to burst out laughing. “No, I’m afraid not, Theo. Ki—um, Lady’s at home.” He shot a smile over at Staas, positioning Theo more securely in his arms so that he wouldn’t drop the wiggly little kid.
