Apparently Sofie Collins was a strange creature. While others cursed the heavy snowfall, she rejoiced in it. She was much more comfortable in cold weather than hot and thought that the white ground covering was quite beautiful. In addition, she took the break from classes with ease. However, even she had to second guess her decision to be out during a blizzard.
She had originally scheduled this interview at what she thought to be an ideal time; outside of usual business hours and before her afternoon classes. That was far before the snow began to fall. Since she hadn't bothered to update herself with the news and weather broadcasts, the sudden turn caught her by surprise. Still, she couldn't force herself to cancel the interview since that would mean rescheduling around the gallery's open hours and classes a second time-- an idea she wasn't terribly fond of.
Deciding to "weather the storm", Sofie dressed in her snuggest sweater dress and a pair of thick tights-- she made sure to wear knee-length boots for extra insulation. Heels weren't an option in this condition, so she didn't even bother.
With the freezing wind shooting an icy dust of snow against her, she fully regretted making the trek. It was an extreme comfort to be back indoors, though she still didn't bother to turn the heat up in the gallery. What she did do was brew a pot of coffee in her office (forgive her if she dropped an ounce of scotch in there to really warm it up...)
Sofie was sipping her coffee and doing a sweep of the gallery when Madeline walked in. At that point the decision was already half-made. She was so pleased with Madeline's stylish yet appropriately professional attire that as long as the other woman wasn't an airhead she would probably get the job; Sofie had dealt with more than one over-the-phone interview that left much to be desired by way of intelligent conversation and one of the most important things about working in the gallery would be knowing how to speak professionally and engagingly with clientele.
"Madeline, I presume?" She remembered the woman's name from their initial conversation. Offering up a pleasant smile she motioned toward the back of the gallery, "let's have a seat in my office for the interview and you can take a look around afterward, if you'd like."
