Staas listened carefully, completely interested in his friend's story. He felt privileged to be getting such personal information, especially as Ira started to show slight signs of being mildly uncomfortable. He grinned at Ira's euphemism for sexy times. Studying. Ha. His grin only grew at the admission of love.
He nodded, though he didn't like that line about Damian's temper. Not that he thought Ira got hit or anything, though it wasn't outside the realm of possibility. But he didn't say anything, or ask any questions. Ira was sharing, and he wouldn't pry for more. "It's weird, isn't it? How you think you got it all together at twenty or twenty-one, only to find you've still got some changing to do. Sounds like you guys just had bad timing or something. It was probably best it ended when it did."
He hoped he sounded like the wise older friend, which was funny, because that wasn't a role he usually looked to fill.
"What about the other relationship? The one before Damian? That was a good one too?"
