Staas agreed that it wasn't all that important. It was a part of Ira, it didn't define him. But still. He'd have thought it would have come up at some point, especially given all the silly couple-y shit they did at the restaurant and stuff. "It's not," he said quietly, making sure Ira knew he didn't really care, other than to maybe think his friend was even more awesome than before. "Just, you know. It's kind of nice to know. So now I can tease you about that other coworker of yours too. The one I danced with that one time?" Because man. Bridget no longer got to hog Ira all for herself now.
He nodded along with Ira's statement about his dad. It wasn't always easy, for older generations. Especially not one as formal and conservative as Staas guessed Papa Bosko to be. And not with bisexual. He'd heard so many people tell tales of friends and family who thought they should choose one or the other, or that being bi signaled confusion more than anything, or was a precursor to a sex addiction or something. Which was all bullshit.
But the statement about Damian blew any supportive comments right out of his mind. He gave a low little whistle. "Wow, two years. That's definitely a significant relationship. Longer than any I've had." Other than with Carey, but that didn't count. They'd only tried for Staas' gayship for a little over five months. Angel had lasted the longest, though Staas highly doubted their relationship had been anything but a mockery of something real.
