When: Monday February 9th, 2010
Where:
Rating: PG to PG-13 just in case
Summary: Dawn needs a model and Melina is willing to help.
Warnings: Hmm I can't really think of any
Dawn wasn't exactly used to having company. That might have been because she had a habit of locking herself away in her house and not actually meeting people but who wanted to get so technical? But considering where she lived, it wasn't really the type of place one dropped in for a casual visit. The house was nestled near one of the more mountainous areas of Nearside, overlooking the small city. She didn't really have neighbors so she never had to worry about anyone popping by for a cup of sugar or a chat so she was left relatively alone. Now though, she was expecting a guest.
She wasn't sure what she should even do; socializing was more her sister or her mother's thing so she wasn't sure if she should be preparing food or cleaning or what. After awhile Dawn ended up puttering around the house, straightening things before messing them up again, tossing pillows from the couch and onto the floor when she felt the room looked too clean. In one of the larger guest bathrooms, she rearranged the selection of makeup she had laid out three or four times before she finally returned to the living room to perch on the edge of one of the couches. Scrunching her toes into the plush rug underneath her feet, she found herself as grinning a tingle of excitement fluttered in her chest. This would be the first time she would work with someone other than her sister and even if she was half convinced her volunteer would end up looking like a demented clown, she was looking forward to it.
This could be one of the first few steps into getting the career she wanted, to actually doing something with herself. The idea of spending the rest of her life working with makeup might seem like a rather frivolous career choice to some but to Dawn, this was her art and her passion and the one thing she actually felt like she was good at. If she could manage to work well on an actual human being instead of a plastic head, she would know that she really was doing the right thing by following her passion.
Hearing what might have been a car door closing, Dawn stood up and bounced over to the window, a sudden feeling of nervousness having her gnawing at her bottom lip. Was she here already?
