Do you know what your son did? Characters: McGonagall, Molly, and possibly Ron Date: September 23rd Location: McGonagall's Office, the Burrow, and possibly the Great Hall Rating: PG for language Summary: McGonagall finally gets around to telling Molly about her son's improper behavior Status: incomplete
McGonagall was late in writing to Mrs. Weasley. Normally she would be very strict on herself, but she was just spending so much time organizing her desk, reveling in the simple pleasure of an emaculately ordered office. Plus, she was reluctant to worry Molly. She knew that the mother must be worried with her sons in such delicate positions within the Order and so closely tied to Harry Potter himself.
With a small sigh, she picked up her quill and began to write,
Dear Mrs. Weasley,
It is my duty to inform you that while on prefect duty, your son, Ronald Weasley, was caught engaging in lewd behavoir with fellow prefect, Hermione Granger. While Miss Granger has admitted to being the one who instigated the incident, such behavior, particularly in our prefects is not to be tolerated.
At this point Ronald has been deducted twenty points for setting a bad example, and has been placed on probation for his prefect duties until further review. I urge you to speak to him and impress upon him the gravity of his duties. Being a prefect is a privilege, not a right, and he has the responsibility of setting an example for his fellow students.
I will keep you abreast of any further developments in this situation.
Signed, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts Minerva McGonagall.
Minerva put down her normal quill and - revealing in the ease of finding things on her own, took out a phoenix feather quill donated by Fawkes. The ink glowed like tempered metal and she knew that only an order member would be able to read the next part.
P.S. If you are up to travel, I would very much like to meet with you to discuss security measures on the school. There has been an unfortunate complication, which your son William may have informed you of. I feel that some of your more exotic magical prowess might offer a unique solution to future incidents. Perhaps this weekend around tea time?
