The dead body of Lieutenant April Silva was found at 6:30 a.m. at her parents' home in Virginia by her parents, Dr. Bernard Silva and Shirley Silva.

There were a few obvious things about the crime scene and April, that could be spotted at first glance:
1. Broken lamp on the floor
2. Body on couch. It is naked and covered in blood. There seems to be many cuts on the body. She is a redhead in her mid-20s.
3. No sign of forced entry.

The whole team is called in to investigate the next morning. The house they arrive at is a very large white Victorian, in a very nice neighborhood full of doctors and lawyers. It's definitely white collar.

(Go for it team! Get in there and start collecting the evidence I sent you. If you have any questions or need anything, let me know in a private message or hit me up in an email or on aim!)

Tony'd been anxious the whole time they'd been driving to the scene. He had an itchy feeling about this one. He barely blinked when he was told to shoot photos.

Tony snapped on his gloves and winced at the position of the body and swallowed hard. It never got easier and when they were naked and vulnerable it really hit hard.

He began photographing the broken lamp and the body, moving with precision. He'd done this many too many times before. Zeroing in on the blood on the arm of the couch, Tony snapped a half dozen pictures before zooming out for wider shots of the body.

McGee's head was still buzzing from the "beating" so to speak he'd taken from the night before. "That's the last time," he told himself "that I go to a hardcore concert for a date." Besides, the girl hadn't been his type at all. Why couldn't these girls be cool, like Abby...

Focus McGee. Crime Scene.

McGee put on his white gloves and began carefully scanning the house for clues. Ah, a laptop and a home PC. He would be comfortably in his element. He would begin analyzing the PC now, and send the laptop back to the lab.

Tony finished shooting and started moving around the scene, starting at the couch. he took a swab of blood from the arm of the couch and sealed it before storing it and getting out his fingerprint kid. "Elf Lord in his own environment," he remarked, motioning to McGee at the computer.

Ziva investigated the area around the house while Tony was taking photos and McGee was doing whatever he did. As she walked up the walk she noticed the ice along the wall and a footprint in the flowerbed, but the weather from the night before did not seem to allow for an icy walk. Approaching the parents she asked if they had noticed the footprint before and they told her they had not noticed it but asked if it had something to do with what happened to their daughter.

Ziva was never really one for emotions, they only led to recklessness in her eyes, so when the parents started to get emotional she simply told them that they would have more answers once they had a chance to investigate and then went back to gathering evidence, which included a casting of the footprint.

Gibbs took in the position of the body, the blood-spatter, and the lay of the shards of the broken lamp. He handed his coffee off to McGee and pulled on a pair of gloves.

"What have you got, McGee?"

"Not too much boss. It looks like Lieutenant Silva didn't keep much of anything really of note on her desktop computer. I'm sending the laptop I found to Abby. I was just about to start searching around her bed for any evidence.

"You do that, McGee; then you can help Ziva with the exterior sweep. I've gotta go talk to the parents."

Leaving his coffee beside McGee, Gibbs made his way outside to where the victim's parents stood, holding onto each other. He presented his ID, "Gibbs, NCIS. We're very sorry for your loss. Can you tell me how you found your daughter?"

The mother just shook crying, so the father started to speak. He was very polite and showed little emotion. "We were at a party tonight. An AIDS charity event at the Phillips Center. We got home around 3:30 in the morning and went to bed. In the morning we came down for breakfast and found her laying on the couch. We called the police immediately."

"Thank you. One of the other agents will take your full statements." Gibbs closed his notebook and walked off. On his way out he walked past Ziva and told her to take the parents' statements once she and McGee had finished the perimeter sweep.

Movement, a flash out of the corner of his eye that drew Gibbs' attention. The next door neighbour was peeking through her window. The preliminary statements said that she reported hearing screaming in the night. Gibbs knocked on her front door and, when it was opened, presented his ID. "NCIS Special Agent Gibbs. Could I ask you a few questions, Ma'am?"

Gibbs closed is notebook again. "Thank you. I'll need you to give a full statement to one of my agents."

Gibbs left and looked over the scene again, seeing Tony taking pictures in the bedroom, and McGee leaving the room, Ziva continuing her perimeter sweep... all was right so far.

Tony moved over to the lamp and began dusting it for prints. As he worked he was glad to see that there were five prints he could save and he secured the prints, before stowing his kit. He stood again, snapping a couple more photos and heaving a huge sigh, cocking his head.

Was that...?

He moved closer now, carefully tweezing up one strand of hair and putting it in an evidence bag. That didn't belong here.

McGee finished up on the computer, and then went over to the bed. Hmmm. There appeared to be several fibers on the bed. McGee carefully removed the fibers using a pair of tweezers, and upon closer inspection looked like hairs, two red, a blonde, and a few brown ones. After bagging and tagging the hairs, McGee gathered up the bedding, bagged and tagged those as well, then McGee went to the bedstand, where there was an address.

Looks like the lieutenant had an appointment with someone. Gibbs will want to know about this. Then again, maybe I should go outside and help Ziva.

Tony followed McGee into the bedroom. "Anything, Probie?" Tony crouched on the opposite side of the bed from McGee, photographing a broken picture frame and a shredded blouse. "Got a frame and shirt over here." He ducked into the living room and grabbed his kit, bagging the frame and all the shards of glass he could get up as well as the blouse."

Ziva finally finished with the footprint and continued to gather evidance. She found the girl's clothes and a ticket to Rear Window, a classic theater 10 miles away. Ziva made note of the time and date on the ticket, 5:30 pm the same night the Lieutenant was found murdered.

Gathering these items and bagging them Ziva then moved to the curtains, covered in blood, and took a swab. Everything she had gathered now needed to be taken to Abby, but, she first wanted to make sure she had everything.

Tony hung up and wandered to where Ziva was. "You ready?"
