Who? Alan and Brendan
When? Friday Morning-ish
Where? Nondescript gym with A/C
What? Brendan is scared of treadmills
Rating PG (probably)
On the other hand, letting Brendan talk him into a gym was not a good idea. But then, letting Brendan Carlisle talk him into anything was not a good idea. Curiosity killed cat, Alan wanted to know if Brendan would run away from a working treadmill if he saw one. And the monster just sort of grew from there. He had no one else but himself to blame.
As it were, they decided to meet Friday morning, since Alan was still deciding whether or not to pop over to the station in the afternoon, he wasn’t required to work every day, but the days when he didn’t work seemed abysmally dull.
Pascal was sniffing at his old duffel bag, he packed a towel, Gatorade, and a change of clothes. Then Pascal barked shortly and shook his head. Alan rolled his eyes, “Oh, I know, you shut up.”
Being dressed in a t-shirt and sweatpants made Alan feel almost naked. It was weird to go somewhere and not wear a tie and Oxfords. He felt ridiculous. But maybe Brendan would look similarly ridiculous and then Alan would feel better about himself. And the best thing was, the gym had ongoing air-conditioning.
