Miranda sincerely hoped that the tips of her ears weren’t going pink because of her sister’s statement. She knew it wasn’t meant as a compliment, but she wasn’t used to Mona teasing her about things, most especially her character quirks. It was almost nice in a way. “Considering I have a gym membership that I actually use, I think you’re right,” she agreed with a small laugh. “Okay,” she agreed easily, making a note to remind herself to get a hold a Jasper and see when it would be convenient to drop them by. She still didn’t feel comfortable enough to stop by his place without calling ahead.
No matter how often she saw her sister handle Nicholas, she still marveled a little at how easy Mona made it seem to juggle things like feeding Nicholas and herself. She knew most mother’s learned skills like that, but it was still interesting to her to witness. Her eyebrows raised at the fact that Daddy had been the first person Mona had said anything to, though she waited patiently through the rest of her sisters explanation before she said anything, her own train of thought derailed with Mona’s last sentence. “Oh,” she breathed, surprised, “I wouldn’t have guessed that,” she finished honestly. She had assumed that Mona and Sky weren’t thinking marriage, clearly that had been incorrect. “Sorry, that came out wrong. I’m really happy for you two, congratulations. Mama must’ve been hard to contain when you told her.” Why was it she could never handle things with Mona as smoothly as she would have liked? She really hoped she hadn’t given the wrong impression.
