"A sister always knows!" Mona retorted, completely joking. Though they'd made incredible progress on their relationship, Mona was under no delusions that they knew each other too well yet. "I don't think you've got it in your makeup to get fat," she teased Miranda, though it had less to do with genetics and more to do with Miranda's willpower, she thought. "I'll keep some of 'em to share, but that's a lot of cookies. You should go ahead and give some to Jasper." She was curious about how things were going between her sister and her mysterious boyfriend, but she'd wait until they were settled in to get into all that.
While Miranda got Nicholas, Mona finished getting everything to the table, grabbing a couple bottles of water. If Miranda wanted something else, she was welcome to grab it. She was going for simple and easy tonight. She took Nicholas with a smile and 'thanks' before settling him into the reclined baby seat at the table, strapping him in with practiced ease. Sitting down, she picked up the bottle and gave it to Nicholas, holding it for him as she picked up her fork with the other hand. "Yeah, I did," she answered, not surprised when Miranda picked up on and brought that back up. "I was gonna tell you first, but then Daddy came over on Friday and it kinda slipped out, and he was gonna tell Mama, but I asked him to give me a chance to, cause well, you know Mama; she'd have been upset not to hear it from me." Mona paused her rambling, taking a breath before coming out with it. "Sky and I are gonna get married."
