Summary: Sloane has decided that today she needs to go swimming and she's drug Shosh and Rori along with her.
Completion: Incomplete
The weather forecast had said scattered thunderstorms all day, but that hadn't detoured Sloane from wanting to go to the swimming pool, nor had it detoured her from insisting that it not just be Shosh that goes with her. Sloane had made it very clear that morning that she wanted to go to the pool and she wanted her Rori to go with her. The five year old didn't understand that grown ups had work they had to do, or she understood it and didn't care. So with crossed fingers Shosh had given Rori a phone call and asked her friend if she'd be up for going to the pool today, that it was per request of Sloane and that she would not be taking 'no' for an answer.
Thankfully Rori had been able to come along, so they had agreed to meet at the swimming pool and maybe go out for ice cream afterwards. Shosh thought a break might be nice, and it had been too long since she had had a chance to catch up with Rori. So after leaving the ranch in Graham's hands for the day and packing everything into the pick up, Shosh and Sloane had made their way into the city and to the pool.
The drive had been full of 'are we there?' and Sloane chattering on about what she wanted to do first once she got to the pool, all of this involving a 'This is what my Rori and I will do first,' and Shosh was okay with being relegated to second fiddle, it was something she had become accustom to over the years. Pulling into a parking stall, Shosh had to glance into the backseat and tell Sloane that she had to wait to be unbuckled from her car seat, and that she was not to go racing off to find Rori all on her own. "She'll meet us at the front entrance," Shosh informed her daughter as she grabbed first the beach bag and then got Sloane out of her car seat. "So you can walk next to me and hold my hand," she added as they began to move towards the front entrance.
"See, there's your Rori right now," Shosh pointed out as she caught sight of Rori standing at the front entrance to the swimming pool. This was a bad move as Sloane went racing towards Rori, forgetting that moments ago she had promised she wouldn't run off. Shosh gave up saying anything though, in hopes that maybe Rori would reprimand Sloane for running away like that.
"Rori!" The five year old exclaimed as she reached Rori and flung her arms around Rori's legs. "How is Cannon's baby?" Sloane had met the colt once, but couldn't remember his name. "Will he be okay 'cause you're spending the day with me?"
