Twenty-two didn't feel any different than twenty-one did, in his mind it was just another year. Ezra was beginning to see his birthday as not just another day though, but he chalked that up to having people in his life who wanted to make a bigger deal about it, that wanted to celebrate and go out to lunch and acknowledge he had made it through another year. Today despite the fact that he didn't entirely think he needed to, Neve had convinced him to take the day off and he had decided that his first course of action in celebrating his twenty second year of existence was going to be going out to lunch with his best friend. It had been what felt like eons since he and Erica had sat down and just talked, sure they had seen each other and had had a couple jam sessions here and there, but it seemed life was trying really hard to keep them both busy enough that they rarely just sat and chatted to each other.
Ezra couldn't complain though, as he was more than happy with his life as whole currently. He was going to get to spend his birthday with both his 'girls', first lunch with Erica and then the evening would be spent with Ariel. He could admit he had picked the place for lunch at random, making sure it was near enough to Erica's work that she wouldn't have to travel far and opting not to torture her with sushi, mostly because he didn't know where she stood on food like that. Knowing he was a few minutes early, Ezra got a table and was flipping through news articles on his phone while he waited, he had his phone set on the table because lately his shoulder had been giving him hell, it ached more than usual and his mobility seemed to be drastically changing again. He was putting off going into the doctor to see what was going on with it, he hadn't stopped playing guitar or doing anything like that yet, but he knew if he didn't get it looked at soon he might end up screwing it up again. Part of him thought about bringing his thoughts and worries up to Erica, knowing she'd be honest with him, but a larger part of him didn't want to face the fact that he might just be losing mobility in that arm and it might not be recoverable. Shoving that thought aside, he glanced up at the door and grinned as he caught sight of Erica. "Hey, over here," Ezra waved his good arm in the arm to catch his friend's attention, standing up to pulled her into a hug when she reached the table. "How're you?"
