Day 1 - 3
This is the daily post to comment with any naart for Day One, 2008. Also for Day Two and Day Three.
(This is the daily post on Livejournal for Day One. And Day Two and Day Three.)
(Apparently a non-personal journal will not let me make backdated posts: this seems very unfriendly of it. So I may just do Day 1-3 as one post, on the basis that right now I am the only member on IJ.)
And this is jekesta's Encouraging Post: Hello!:) This is a sort of happy welcome in case you've been linked here and are thinking of joining in. Please do! It's really as free and easy as the userinfo hopefully suggests. You can look back at last year's entries to see the sort of things people get up to, but anything new you want to do will be happily embraced. All art is welcomed, people are very friendly and encouraging, it's good fun and while it can be hard finding time some days it's rarely actually impossible, and it's interesting to try.
If you're worried because you can't do art and have never done art and are probably not very good at art, then please imagine words here that are AS REASSURING AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. Your art doesn't have to be good, it's very much about having an excuse to do art even though you actually maybe can't. And sometimes people do that thing where they start off not very good at art and then magically, through daily practice, sort of improve, but! But! It is SO NOT OBLIGATORY. Improvement is purely optional. Come and celebrate enjoying art without any skill or talent getting in your way. Believe me the other people here won't even begin to judge you for whatever you post, everyone's very friendly and excited to see what other people have attempted, regardless of how it actually turned out.
Having said that if you are already quite good at art or incredibly good at art or some sort of artistic genius, then you are EQUALLY WELCOME. It can still be a great challenge to try to make something EVERY DAY, and busy days can encourage you to try out quicker techniques you might not have thought of, or just to rush through something and see how it goes.
If you're kind of interested, but assume you won't manage and will drop out and then will feel bad for dropping out and as if you have FAILED, then you can always just decide to do the first week, and then stop. We'd still love to see what you've been doing. And you can see how it goes, and if you want to you can change your goal to the whole month.
Feel free to introduce yourself here if you like, or on the most recent post, or post an introduction post of your own, or you can just start posting come Friday. All is good. If you get here after Friday you're still just as welcome to join in, you can either start from where you are, or attempt to make pieces to catch up for the days missed, that's up to you. It would also be great if you could put up a link to the community in your own journal or tell anyone else you think might be interested. The more the merrier:)
