"Avengers Take Down" Training Email
To: All X-Men on all teams
From: s.summers@xaviers.edu
Date: 12th June 2012
Guys,
Been running through the Avengers roster that I'm aware of, and I've put some thoughts together on how best to approach the next training session.
We have to be realistic here, these guys are extremely powerful in their own right and we're going to need to work as a huge collective to take them down. This means Senior X-Men, New X-Men and Young X-Men all working in harmony.
From now on, I'm including "Avengers Take Down" on our list of monthly training drills. Tactics for the next session are as follows:
1. Aquaman - Got to keep him dehydrated and away from water. Dust will keep him dry and Rockslide bring the brawn.
2. Batman - Will be prepared for anything, including telepathic attack. I expect he'll convert his cowl to a similar tech that Magneto uses. X-23 and Nightcrawler to keep him occupied. The game plan is to get the cowl off a la Juggernaut before Jean shuts his brain down.
3. Black Canary - Beast will need to develop some sound wave diverting in-ear technology. Gambit will then take her down.
4. Captain America - He's survived in a block of ice before - he can do it again, Iceman.
5. Flash - Northstar.
6. Green Arrow & Hawkeye - Arrows are no match for a Cannonball, Sam.
7. Green Lantern - We'll need to knock him out of the sky and take him out while he's grounded. Rogue and Psylocke, he's all yours.
8. Iron Man - If I can see him, I can blast him.
9. Mockingbird - Colossus.
10. Ms. Marvel - Only engage if necessary Rogue, my guess is she'll go for you first. We can use that distraction to our advantage and have Emma shut her mind down.
11. Scarlet Witch - Nightcrawler to teleport Logan in behind her.
12. Superman - All telepaths are to concentrate on Superman as the main priority. Ranged fighters blast him with all you've got as soon as you can. We need to take his brain offline fast. The longer he stays active, the shorter our chances of success become. I've heard rumours of a rock or something (I know!) that can take him down but there's no concrete evidence.
13. Thor - I'm looking forward to seeing how the God of Thunder competes with a Goddess of all weathers.
If you're not mentioned specifically here you'll need to fill in a support role. Ranged fighters are to stay with me and protect the telepaths first and foremost. Melee fighters; I want you to pick a target and help out. Once they're down, on to the next. Flyers; work on knocking the Avengers out of the sky and towards the melee team.
I'll have more information before the start of the next Danger Room session, including more detailed attack strategies for individual take downs.
These aren't set in stone, folks. The more we practice, the better we'll become and more efficient strategies will develop.
Thanks,
Scott.
