Bruce was in the middle of a board meeting when the sound of chirping birds interrupted whomever was speaking. The room fell silent, all eyes turned judgmentally toward the C.E.O. as he, instead of turning it to silent, answered the call with a pleasant smile.
"Hello." He made no effort to be silent, leaning back in the reclining chair. "I meant to call you."
