.the position; » Character: Set » Region: Babylon » Position desired: Marshal » Why should your character have this position?: Although Set is notoriously stubborn, he is also notoriously driven. Back in NYC he is the principal percussionist out of that drive to be the best, to be number one. Aside from just being an intimidating character, has a strong personality and when he is an element that he can appreciate he really does put his best foot forward. He likely earned his place in rank through that hard working determination. He's also capable of making tough decisions without delay and he's clever enough to come up with the impressive strategies needed to be a military leader.
Also, he is willing to do what it takes to defend his region at all cost. As a god, Set was a protector of Egypt and the defender of Ra. When his energies are properly focused toward a good cause, he does not disappoint. And if he is associated with a place, he will have some pride in it. So, being a native Babylonian, he will not allow the region to fall into the mess at hand so easily. He won't hesitate to do what he needs to do to protect it, regardless of how that falls on him in the end. It may seem too noble for him, but this shouldn't be overlooked as a case of Set wanting to protect something that is his. And it was the position he had worked for, so he's certainly not going to back down from it.
All of these things place him as a very effective and capable military leader. He's ready to do what he needs to whenever it is needed. However, therein lies some opportunity for conflict as well depending on how the other leaders feel. With Babylon being invaded and pressured by other regions, Set will be pushing the heads of the region for action. In terms of the current war brewing, he is selfish in the sense that he could care less if the other regions want to blow themselves up. That's not his problem. However, he will not take kindly to people stepping into his homeland to do just that. Bitches need to gtfo, essentially.
So, he has no intention of pushing Babylon into a war. Just the opposite, he just wants to push the invaders out and deal with the problems directly as possible. The whole mess is really not their problem and it shouldn't have to be.
