[She didn't really have visions about good things. Ever. Was that because life was generally not good or because she was just lucky enough to see the not good things? She wasn't sure. Frankly, she'd stopped caring long ago. She'd stopped caring about a lot of things a very long time ago.
When the thing with the dinosaurs started happening, she'd been lucky enough to get inside a building. Maybe not the apartment building where everyone was supposed to go, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be safe for long anyway. She'd hidden up in an attic and though sometimes a apatosaurus peered through the one window, nothing seemed like it was going to eat her immediately.
But this just meant that when the vision came she had nothing to distract her.
Her brother.
Dying.
Again.
She'd gotten to see the first time too, in a vision just like this, five minutes before he actually died. Then, she'd collapsed in her chambers and two hours later one of the servant had brought the news that she already knew.
This time, she doesn't faint, which maybe means that she's stronger or maybe means that the universe hates her just that much more since now she can't even escape into the oblivion of unconsciousness. She just watches it play out over and over again.
The blood.
Her hands over her eyes.
She forgets where she is.
Later, much later, it stops. Everything stops. There's sunlight shining through the window. Only then does she scream, her hands reaching up to muffle the sound. It's already happened. She knows it has.
She forgets about the sunlight.]
