thirty-seven. When he wakes and finds himself in hospital, he isn't relieved. Instead, he is bothered. A man had to take his life, his wife is alive and had watched him die - again. And now he's back and would have to find a way to deal with either leaving his work or finding a way to keep it while working on how to earn Isolde's forgiveness. If that was even possible.
His phone isn't far from him and it's picked up. The messages are skimmed through until he finds a couple from the other men in Isolde's grandfather's employ. He gathered from the sympathies that apparently he was in because he'd had a nasty fall, impaling his shoulder on something when he came down.
Those are all ignored as he continues to look through his phone until he comes to 'Bianca Moretti'. A part of him itches to call her, to tell her where he was and that they had to talk. Another part didn't want to deal with something that had no chance of getting better or worse if the made was made.
In the end, he says nothing to anyone. The phone is set aside and he closes his eyes to sleep again.
