Helen doesn't hide her mortal parents out of distrusts but because she genuinely hates them and she doesn't keep any contact with them herself, something else she hasn't spoken of. She remembers her marriage in Sparta as forced upon her, and that is something she doesn't want. This isn't to say Menelaus would force her into that, and while rationally she knows this, she still feels that marriage is too much. Though she clearly does consider herself as being with Menelaus- she wouldn't call him her boyfriend because she feels that is superfluous term, she'd probably settle with for fiancee if asked by people who didn't know their immortal backgrounds.
But she's also told him tons of times she loves him, and got nothing back in return, it isn't exactly inspiring her trust either. She suffered, and cried when he died (something that if Menelaus' concession not to cheat is huge? This is equally huge for Helen, just as her staying in the hospital by his side).
To be honest, what has set Helen back the most was the fact he was married, and while it wasn't his choice, she still resents it. It makes it difficult for her to deal with him. Two years (a few months less actually, a year and a half- because we're not at two years in-game yet XD) isn't enough for her to let go of all that, and she was finally letting it go when she just had it shoved in her face that he was married to someone else. She feels like he's inevitably going to leave her, and if so, then she shouldn't show any hurt.
So right now Helen needs a lot of distance to think back on everything, but she just doesn't know where to go from where she is. Helen is incredibly proud, and display of weakness are disapproved of.
