Zurvan family: Oh god, feels into the next century. Because he's such a brusque, sarcastic, and tetchy character, he's not good at dealing with things like ~love~ and ~family~. Once, he wanted to have a family with his ex-wife. Then he decided against it, feeling like kids would just make things really horrible, and he's never quite liked kids anyway. So then Elaine comes along, he loves her like a husband should, they have kids, and then they remember themselves. AWKWARD FOREVER. He was very... rude? I guess, with Elaine initially, passing shit off like he didn't care about their marriage and the kids.
The truth is, he does. He cares a lot. He's not someone who's lonely and looking for love, because he's pretty okay on his own romantically, but after Elaine, shit just went really bad. The thing is, he's never actually hated Elaine. He finds her amusing and a total failure, but there's never been any hate. He sees her as someone he can annoy and whose like he can make miserable, is all. And then Zurvan happens, so cue ALL of the awkward feels. I wouldn't say all of his feelings have lingered, like to a point where he wants to ask Elaine if they can start over or whatever, but some have carried over. And this is a BIG PROBLEM.
Then of course, there is Charlie. Charlie who is supposed to be his son but is now his nephew. Again, the paternal feelings have come with him out of Zurvan, and again, this is a problem. He's not sure he's ever really been fit to be a dad, even after Pheme. The thing is that he often comes across as thinking he's the shit, but in reality, he doesn't. He tries to be, but feels like he'll always fail. So all of these paternal feels make him anxious because he keeps comparing himself to other, better people, see: Gawain. And in his heart, he knows that he'll never really be good enough of a father. He'll try and try, but inevitably fail.
AND THIS CONCLUDES VAINE'S FEELS AND ISSUES. IF YOU READ THIS, PROPS.
