Re: Shi Samyaza; is the elder twin to non-identical brother. His father is of Irish descent, his mother of Italian descent and he was born and raised in wealthy Greenwich, Connecticut. From both, religion was something that mattered and never allowed to be dismissed. Life was good though he never quite gotten along with his parents. They were more conservative and he was anything but that, even remaining more liberal and reckless than they like. He acted out even more when they sought to manage his twin brother, who was a quieter man than himself. And when he took over the family business, for he still had a head for that, he strove to run it his way. Maeve's birth settled him down slightly, luck going his way when the mother of his child wanted nothing to do with her and had only sought a good time with Samyaza. Though he sees them time-to-time, he still struggles to deal with his parents in an entirely civil fashion. He never has left his daughter alone with them, too possessive to allow them to turn her into some perfectly spoilt brat. His daughter, for the record, often enjoys announcing to him that she loves his twin more than him. Such heartache from the fruit of his loins!
Bastet; is New York-born and raised along aside her older brother. Her British-born mother is one half Moroccan and one half British as well as a overly perky and clingy former model and singer with a substantial amount of wealth before her marriage. Her Egyptian father with an English education, is a doctor. They have a very posh lifestyle but it was her mother who pushed for philanthropy among them all, something Bastet leapt on and never let go. Religion never really settled among them partly because of her mother's mixed religious background and their father's own relaxed attitude about it. They're all very busy people, well-traveled and very affectionate toward one another. Bastet actually still lives at home with her family, finding that living alone is very lonely and depressing. She never brings anyone home unless to meet her family, however, and that itself is rare. But she desires children if nothing else, missing her Mahes very much. Through her mother's Moroccan side, she is related to Surpanakha (through the Hindu goddess' father) though they are not very close.
Nephthys; is Egyptian-born and grew up mainly in both Egypt and Lebanon, having a Lebanese father and an Egyptian mother. Her life was more relaxed and lenient that some may think as her parents considered themselves more modern but still correct Muslims who had the pleasure of being in mixed company all their lives. The same was applied to their little girl. So she never covered her head except during prayer or when the sun was terribly hot and she has lived a charmed, cozy life. There were no pressures on her aside from a desire to see her do well enough for herself (and to brag about her success to relatives as some families tend to do). And while Nephthys always desired siblings it was not meant to be. She arrived in the States in her teens with her parents but they have long since returned to Lebanon - or wherever they want to roam as her family have always been just comfortable enough financially. There were tough times but since their arrival in (and departure from) the States things have been stable. Through her mother, she is related to Horus (his mother being half Egyptian and half Spanish).
