The original post was here on our LJ crack comm but after bringing it up with Cristina to discuss CR, it seems like a good thing to bring up again! So borrowing what was said but putting it all in my own words:

Here we will discuss the characters' families and their lives with them. As in the people they grew up with, the people who raised them and so forth. The parents/guardians, the siblings or lack of, cousins and more. Did they grow up well-off and how ridiculously so? Or maybe very middle-class, perhaps even poor? Was it all very general or incredibly special? Did they get messed up and how? What age? Or maybe it was perfect? Even include if they have children of their own now and how that part is going (or not going, depends entirely on the character, of course).

Bring up the religion or culture they were raised with, maybe in what the country or even countries. What was approved of, what wasn't? Maybe the kind of home they had, the schools they went to (public, private?) and anything that comes back to their family life.

No need to fill out every question asked by this is just to help guide and provoke thought. Feel free to do everyone in one comment if you have more than one character. It would likely save you the headache of logging in and out.
