Anubis didn't travel often except for the holidays to visit his family. The pup had alerted him to the presence of mostly everyone that had been there that day, even if he'd been aware of them before. He just shook his head and smiled a little usually. He never really mingled with the people visiting their deceased loved ones. It was a private time and he rather preferred them not to notice him anyway. Most of his day had been spent with the upkeep of the graveyard and getting the dog to chase away any unwanted "visitors".
Neighborhood children were unwanted at this point. He didn't care if their parents let them do whatever they wanted. He wanted them to be respectful of the dead.
However, his eyes narrowed a little as one of them started to approach him. Anubis straightened, leaning just a little on the shovel in his hands. He hadn't started to dig one of the newer graves yet, but it was on his list. He was just making sure of the ground and the spot asked for.
"Good evening," he replied, a hint of uncertainty to his voice.
