Summary: Kallista meets the man who would be Ares. And things happen.
Having a few days to mull over recent events had left her with a headache, mostly. But keeping in mind what Lenore, Mathias and Alexander --or Aeneas-- had said helped. A little. The things that were said and everything about Rome just... wasn't rationally possible. It was reassuring that she wasn't entirely alone in the matter, and in truth it was probably the main thing keeping her from seriously considering admitting herself. Regardless of her patients and the errands of the day, her thoughts kept straying to the day at the arena during Aeneas' fight. It had been familiar but the memories were somehow too fuzzy in the back of her mind to grasp. Thankfully though, meeting Henry and finding out what her deadbeat husband had been up to in her absence would be a nice much needed, and hopefully normal, distraction. Even if Henry or "Ares" was potentially crazy as well -- which was why meeting in such a public venue was key. Kallista had ordered tea (and didn't so much as glance at the cell number scribbled to the side of the cup as she was used to it) before picking a table in the back corner. Ignoring the stares from a majority of the male customers, she grabbed a magazine to flip through as she waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.
Soon enough forty-five minutes had passed and Kallista grew more annoyed by each additional minute. But still, even though, something had kept her waiting for some man she knew very little of. She had never been stood up before; ever. There was a possibility that he may have gotten lost -- after all he was new to the city and men never asked for directions, right? At least for his sake she hoped that was the case. After the last sip of her tea, Kallista was just about to get up and leave when the door opened again. A few more seconds to wait and see if it was him wouldn't hurt. And if it was she could have the gratification of blowing him off in public for rudely making her wait.
