Cassandra, for her part, lapsed into silence as people moved around her. Someone started looking at her wrist and saying things about sprains and bandages. She nodded and tried to pay attention, but she kept shooting glances at Hermes, wondering when he was going to decide this was a bad idea.
The man looking at her wrist finally realized she wasn't paying attention and starting directing his commentary at Hermes instead.
Cassandra noted this change but wasn't sure what to do about it.
"Thank you," she said, the words directed both at Hermes and the at the man who was helping her.
