A supermoon. Everyone on every social media network was raving about it, but for Locrine it was far from something special. Well, rather, for Tecciztecatl it was not that special. He hadn't been feeling well that day. Most days he could hardly feel anything, but that current day he was actually feeling a bit warm. Even if it was only a bit, it was unwelcomed and uncomfortable compared to the usual nothingness. And it brought back thoughts of a past he didn't care to remember that often.
Sitting as close to the window as he could to get some fresh air in his apartment, he looked bleakly up at the sky. It wasn't a good day for him. Though he was fortunate enough to have a sister that cared for him. He often avoided his family as much as possible, but she had never been a person he minded seeing. Not that he didn't feel a little guilty over her desire to come over because he wasn't feeling well, but he was looking forward to it even so.
Polyxena had many failings in her life, but being a good sister was not one of them (at least a good sister to a brother who wasn't trying for something more) and so she bought ice cream and came over. Locrine was not feeling well, that was all that she needed to know before she set herself about his place finding cups and towels and anything else.
Maybe it was a bit old-fashioned but she liked to fill the bowl with water and some icecubes, she liked to dip a soft cloth into it. Polyxena enjoyed setting out a small tray with ice cream and the water bowl. Once everything was neatly prepared, Polyxena stepped back towards Tecciztecatl's room, knocking on the door lightly, "Locrine? How are you feeling? I brought you some things." She poked her head and smiled weakly.
As soon as he heard her voice, his head turned. However, it took him a bit longer to process what she said to him. Finally, he gave her a slow nod. "You really didn't have to go to the trouble," he said a bit sheepishly, but not in a manner that wasn't clearly grateful and appreciative for her actions. He smiled at her, ruffling a hand through his hair. It wasn't really anything important on his mind, but he must have looked a mess.
"It isn't actually any trouble." Polyxena corrected with a smile and a firm tone, "Please, have some ice cream," She passed him the cup with the spoon after she set down the tray on the side. "Once you finish that, I'll-" She gestured towards the towel and the bowl of water. "It's not much but it is something." Locrine looked awful, like he was boiling hot, but he wasn't ill, there was no reason for him to be running a fever. No cold, no nothing. It was strange.
Maybe it was a god thing for him? Polyxena had more tact than to ask, instead she picked to just look after him.
He wanted to say he begged to differ, but he refrained for her even though he felt the bowl of water may have been a bit excessive. She did bring him ice cream, after all, and that wasn't something he was about to argue with. Smiling as brightly as he could, he sat up a bit more and gladly took the cup from her. He may have been feeling a bit warmer than usual, but that also meant the cold treat was also actually truly cold for once. Locrine stopped himself again before he made a joke on the matter.
"Thank you," he said simply, looking from the cup to her again. But he didn't want all of the focus on him. "I hope this isn't taking too much time out of your day though. Have you been doing alright with... everything?"
The ice cream was left to his devices while she reached over for the cloth, wet it slightly and brushed it along the side of his face. It was a very, very light touch, not wanting to interrupt him with his enjoyment of the icy treat. "Not at all, you're family." And that was that, it didn't matter how busy she was, she would've made time for this. Of course, it did help that she actually had the free time for this. "I'm alright, thank you for asking." It wasn't a polite deflection, "I... well, nothing has changed, but I feel better." Truthfully, Polyxena wasn't ready to speak more on the matter than what they had shared on their lunch a few days before.
There simply was nothing more to share. "Now come on, eat. I brought you an entire tub - which is in the freezer, it is waiting for you."
Though he looked a bit embarrassed by her mothering, he still smiled at her, all too happy to keep eating the ice cream he was given. It made no sense to turn down the offer, after all. "You should eat some, too," he suggested, holding the spoon out for her. "I promise I'm not contagious." He knew very well what was wrong with him. Not that he was going to let on that much information. He had his own truths that he wasn't ready to speak more on. It had been something he had kept hidden for years, letting anything specific drop was something that didn't even come into mind.
