Every instinct in Maia's being told her to go outside, start the repair. Her trees. But right now there was more important things. Zeke still hadn't come home. She was worried until she was physically sick. She had to get herself under control, be strong.

Would this be what it was like every time something happened? The fear, the worry? She accepted all of Zeke when she agreed to marry him. She wasn't having doubts, just worried about her strength, her ability to take it. Could she? Could she be strong enough for them?

She sat outside and waited for Zeke, ignoring the rain, the chill in the air. She just wanted him home. Nothing else mattered.

What: A DRAGON IS ON THE LOOSE!

Bridgette was having nightmares. She had managed to escape until recently, then they started seeping into her dreams. She had tried staying up, really, but thought that since she wasn't having any, she may have been immune.

She was twelve again. She was in her foster father's house and he slapped her hard across the face. She didn't understand, but fury welled up in her. She stood up, and then her whole foster family screamed. "Oh my god, she's a demon!"

"Devil! Get out of this house!"
"Demon!"
"Don, she's a dragon!"

"I am not!" Bridgette screamed at them. Why were they saying such things?! She looked to where they were pointing and stared in horror. A red, scaly wing was fluttering from her shoulder. It couldn't be hers. It couldn't!

Then suddenly? It wasn't. A large dragon appeared over her shoulder and she spun, running from it. She couldn't give a damn about her foster family, she just had to escape before-

Ring Ring.

She woke with a start, looking around for the thing. It wasn't real. Just. A. Dream. "Hello?" Bridgette answered the phone, groggy. And having no idea she had just conjured a dragon.

Dropping Bridgette home after they'd disposed of a couple of Fiends, Zeke decided to have a beer in The Last Round before heading home. Even with such minor demons, having such a young trainee was a nerve wracking experience for a man who usually hunted alone. Still, everything had gone without a hitch, the kid had done well, and come out of the exercise relatively unscathed.

He took a seat at the bar and ordered a beer, then turned around and leaned back against the bar, watching the other patrons as he sipped his beer. His gaze backtracked when he spotted a familiar face. Pushing away from the bar, he headed on over.

"Should've known you'd turn up here sooner or later," He remarked by way of greeting, offering his hand to the other hunter, "How've you been, Spence?"

Zeke crouched and examined a paw print in the ground. It was huge, canine, and fresh. As to whether it was from a werewolf or the hell hound he was hunting was difficult to tell. He wouldn't know till he found its owner. Following the trail, his footfalls were nearly silent on the ground as he moved through the woods, careful to avoid stepping on any twigs that might snap beneath his feet and give away his presence...

What: Hunting, then old friends catch up


"The Huntress has arrived," Artemis thought to herself. She was on the prowl, this time in Mysteria, the little known demonic capital of the world. She was following a few rogue vampires intent on destroying a peaceful coven up there. Not if the Huntress got to him first.

She was following one and her gut told her to hang back. Then she heard something creep behind her and pulled her knife out, holding it to the throat of the man she'd heard. The moment she saw him, her ferocity evaporated. "Hey! You're just in time. You following them too?" She jerked her head toward the vampires who were discussing something.

What: What is going on?!


Maia had stayed behind after school to help the children. Something was going on in Mysteria. She had a sudden influx of students who were suddenly so sure that their nightmares were real. Spiders crawling out of the walls to more disturbing things, such as monsters. All of it so real. They were sure they had seen something. No two were the same, but the theme was; all nightmares that were alive.

She knew just the person to ask about this. Zeke, her fiance. He would know, he was a hunter and had a connection to the very earth itself. If anyone knew something was up, it was him.

She put her things down and kicked off her shoes. She let her hair down and shook it out. "Zeke? Are you home?"

Where: Outskirts of Mysteria
What: Demon hunting doesn't always go according to plan...



Unsheathing a knife, Zeke ran the tip of the blade against his finger, clenching and unclenching his fist a couple of times to get the blood flowing, then reached out and touched a leaf, smearing his blood on it. He kept moving, laying a trail of blood, making no attempt to be quiet. Stealth wasn't his plan. Trapping and killing the Rakshasha was. Crouching, he pressed a hand to the ground, consulting with the earth at the same time as he left more bait. The demon was near by. It was time to finish this.

He hurried into the abandoned house, his steps unerring as he moved through the dark building. When his demonic quarry followed him into the next room, it would never be able to leave again. Hearing the telltale creek of the door opening, he hurried into the next room, where his trap lay waiting to be sprung. Then he waited.

When the door swung open, he only just managed to stop himself in time from attacking the person who walked into the room, glaring at her fiercely. Definitely not his demon.

Oh, fuck.

Who: Zeke & Maia (open to school students and staff)
When: School Hours, mid morning.
Where: Mysteria High
What: Zeke comes to the school to confront Maia about something she forget to tell him about nymphs...



Anger seemed to roll off Ezekiel as he strode across the school grounds, tremors shaking the earth beneath his feet with each footfall. He was too angry to notice. Furious. Hard to believe that only a scant half hour previous he'd been in a relatively mellow frame of mind, but that had been before his conversation with Maia's sister, Lara, who'd been telling him about how she'd gotten into her predicament, and about how Nymphs were conceived with human men and then taken away to the dreaming to be raised.

Entering the the school, he stomped through the halls until he found Maia's classroom. Opening the door, he paid no heed to the art class he was interrupting, and strode directly to his fiancée.

"We need to talk Maia," He growled angrily, leaving no room for argument, "Now."

What: An unexpected reunion



Lara wandered around the furniture store, looking for a crib for her baby. Not that she'd found a permanent place to live yet, but even if she was still in the B&B when the baby came, he'd have to have somewhere to sleep.

Standing between two cribs, Lara was trying to decide which was better.

What: Zeke visits Gideon to discuss Bridgette's training.


Ezekiel had intended to pay Bridgette's father a visit sooner, but he'd gotten sidetracked hunting down and dispatching a couple of demons, so he didn't make it to The Last Round until Thursday.

He walked into the bar shortly after opening, hoping to catch Gideon before the evening rush. Going directly to the bar, he leaned against the counter and waited for the bartender's attention.

The Christmas decorations had been taken down and replaced with one for the party. The bar actually looked festive. Of course Gideon hadn't done it himself. He had had a couple of the employees do it. Still, it looked nice. The bar had been open for a while now but the party was just now set to start. Which was way Gideon was coming down the stairs dressed as a preacher.
