What: Neil is back visiting the kiddy wing with some little creatures for them to play with.

With his faithful dog in tow Neil finished down in reception and headed up to the children’s ward for some animal therapy. Of course he didn’t think there was any surprise that the kids did seem to do better with the animals to fuss over. It was simple. They were soft, warm, fluffy and gave you love!

The fact they had someone to hug was the main thing. Since some of them couldn’t have their parents with them constantly.

He had managed to convince the hospital to keep some guinea pigs. Three guinea pigs and he promised they’d be good for the kids! They wouldn’t pass on germs because they’d be in a clean environment! They don’t shed all that much hair either. The kids needed something bigger and slower than a hamster that they had had previously.

A guinea pig could be hugged and brushed! Plus they made cute chirping noises.

He had a couple of orderlies help him bring up the cage and straw and the sack of food. He walked in to the kiddies wing and Bruno ran in to the middle of all of the kids to play and greet them. He loved kids!

There was always a bit of a mad rush around Christmas time, even for Fish and Cheeps, it was good but it did mean a lot of hard work before, during and even after.

It was true that sometimes the sales were not as good as hoped as parents or partners bring animals back explaining they can't look after said critter. But mostly people kept their pets. It did mean that sometimes people came to buy lost of goodies for their new member of the family. Toys and food were the best sellers. He had managed to sell a few tanks and a cage or two today. But things had gone quiet and he was taking the time to restock waiting for his next customer.

What: Merry Christmas!

Maddy was in the kitchen, hard at work making breakfast for her family and friends. Christmas music was playing as she made every breakfast item she could think off, delicious smells wafting through the house. She was giving Bruno bacon and sausage so he was close to her, happily eating any tidbit put his way.

Who: Quinton, Robin, Fi and Neil

What: The four have dinner together

Robin for once had possibly had a good idea, he had decided that they all needed to sit down to dinner and have a damn good time and that Quinton and Fi especially needed it! Because they worked too hard!

Of course that had meant the cooking was all down to Quinton. Since Robin couldn’t even be trusted with a toaster. It was a proven fact! So instead he was supposed to be getting ready. He had made the apartment look very swanky indeed. There was velvet drapes on the windows and plush carpet and soft lighting. Okay it was all an illusion but it worked!

He ran through the living room to the kitchen in his boxers and unbuttoned slightly pink shirt. “Is it ready yet sexy man?” He asked sliding across the floor.

What: Maddy finally comes home from the hospital

Maddy let out a content sigh as she settled into her own bed. She had gotten home not too long ago and by doctor's orders she was to rest. She was tired of laying about, but being in her own bed, in her own pajamas, was much better.

She wasn't really tired but knew better than to attempt to do the cleaning of the house that was bugging her. Laundry had to be done, food shopping...How had Neil survived with out her to take care of him?

The thing that really bothered her was now she had to go to therapy. It seemed silly to her. She was fine now. She didn't need therapy. But there was no arguing with Caleb and Neil. All her pills had been taken away and now she took nothing but her birth control and anti-depressants. She was not aloud to actually give them to herself. No, once a day Neil or Caleb had to give them to her with her breakfast. She wasn't used to feeling so...helpless. She definately wasn't used to being cared for.

What: Maddy wakes up after her drug overdose.

It was dark. Everything hurt. Pain? Pain meant she wasn't dead. That was good. Maddy didn't want to be dead. But everything hurt. She heard beeping. What was beeping? Was she in the hospital? Was her mom being gone all a dream? Why else would she be in the hospital.

It felt like trying to swim through tar. The beeping got louder. She heard noises. Voice. Maybe she had just fallen asleep in the chair again looking over her mom. That's why everything hurt. The chair was uncomfortable.

She needed to open her eyes. To see her mom. It was all just a bad dream. Her mom was still here. A groan came form her. Why did everything hurt so much? Very very slowly her brown eyes began to open. She saw the ceiling. Was she on the floor? "Mommy?" she called weakly, trying to make her muddled mind work.

What: Neil finds Maddy unconcious on the kitchen floor.

What: Fiona is working some major overtime and Neil come to bring her some food.

Paperwork. Piles and Piles of paperwork. Fiona felt like she could drown in it. She had sent Quinton home to take care of his son and be with his man. Only Tortoise was at home, so it wasn't like she had to rush.

The atmosphere of the station was somber. They had lost one of their own yesterday. Detective Jack Burden had died saving a young woman. It had been his day off...Fi was pretty stricken. They had gone out to dinner and shared a night together. While she would never love Jack, but he was a good man and had been a great lover. She spent all day working tirelessly, barely eating save for what Quinton and forced on her and a great amount of whiskey ended up in her person.

She needed to rest her eyes and leaned back, closing them and rubbing her face. The station was just about empty now. Most had gone hrom to their families. Fi thought of her Neil and sighed. She would leave here too late to go over his, but maybe she would call him in a little while, just to hear his voice.

What: Maddy goes to her cousin for a little bit of advice.

Maddy paced the living room, waiting for Neil to get home. This was stupid. But who the hell else was she going to ask about this? Flopping on the couch, she groaned.

She had told him she loved him. He said he loved her back. The remembrance of those words made her heard flutter. She knew the words were beyond true...but it scared her. To love someone so much...

She jumped when she heard the door open. Now or never. "Hey Neil! Come in the living room!" she called, wringing her hands.

What: Fiona needs something to fill a void in her life and decides a pet might do it...if not the pet shop owner *wink*

Fiona's life was...well, a mess. Work was crazy, home was crazy (Having a hyper sexed up genit in your house tended to do that), and her partner had so many problems she couldn't very well tell him hers. So instead of getting drunk like she usually did, she thought she'd go buy a pet.

How she went from bgetting drunk to getting a pet was anyone's guess, but she pushed open the door of Fish & Cheeps and went in, looking around at what shje could possibly get. She started going through the isles, thinking. A fish? Nah, too boring...anything fuzzy and Robin might eat it. She sighed, running a hand through her curls. This pet thing was harder than she though.

Fi looked arounf, hoping to find the owner. All she found was a three legged dog and grinned, leaning down to pet him. "I don't suppose you could help me pickm out a critter to take home, could ya love?"

What: Julianna goes to the pet shop to get supplies for her new dog.

Julianna walked down the block with her dog Artemis in tow. She was on her lunch hour and instead of spend it shelving as she normally did, she was out in about town, headed to the pet store.

She had nothing she needed to have a dog in the house, nor was she sure what to feed her. She wanted to make sure Artemis had the best of everything. She opened the door to Fish and Cheeps, hoping she didn't get in trouble for having Artemis with her. "Hello?" she called and headed up to the counter, Artemis' nails clicking on the linolium floor.

What: Maddy, Caleb, and Neil all have diner together.

"No no, like this." Maddy said, giggling and taking Caleb's hands out of the egg. "You're making a mess!" She paitiently shows Caleb (again) how to bread the eggplant properly. "You're about as hopeless in the kitchen as Neil!"

After she and Caleb had spent all afternoon doing homework and just enjoying eachother's company, Maddy needed to make dinner and Caleb insisted in helping. 'Helping' was a realative term, but Maddy liked teaching and it was cute to watch him try so hard.

So now the pair was making dinner, waiting for Neil to get home from the pet shop.

Maddy yawned as she padded quietly down the steps, rubbing her eyes as her blonde hair fell limply over her shoulders. She had gotten little sleep, as per usual, but she was out if bed by 9:30 anyway. She looked in the kitchen and saw the Cherrios on the counter. Neil was already up then.

She put on the bunny slippers he had gotten her last Easter and went outside, walking briskly down the front walk and picking up the paper. She glanced at the headline and grimaced. What was Mysteria coming to? Two grizzly murders in such a short time. Good thing her mother wasn't around to see it. It would have broken her poor heart.

Slightly depressed, Maddy headed inside and upstairs to Neil's room. The door was ajar so she walked in. "Morning, cousin." she said, climbing into bed next to him and kissing his cheek. "Sleep ok?" She leaned down a scritched behind Bruno's ears before taking her bowl of Cheerios that waited for her on the bedside table.
