Who: Raven & Fox
When: After This
Where: Raven's Cabin
What: Raven gets 'permission' to date. .
It was going on the early morning hours when Raven stepped through the door of her cabin. A smile was still stuck on her face, a face that had a glow to it. The only way she could have glowed more was if she had been a sidhe faerie. Taking her camera off from around her neck she sat it down the table near the door. Her whole body stilled as she listened for Fox. "Please let him still be gone. Please let him still be gone," she whispered. Fox had been away for a while, completely not his fault of course, but now he was back and of course had to inform Raven of this in his own lovable way. Meaning he snuck up behind Raven and managed to climb up on a shelf close to her head without being noticed. He then slowly leaned towards her ear. And screamed. One of those screams that’s like fingernails on a chalk board that makes it feel like somebody ripped out your spine, dipped it in ice cold water then slapped it back in upside down. The scream was joined by one from Raven as she jumped at the sound. A second later she was clamping her hands over her ears while her skin crawled. Once the scream stopped she wasn't even sure she could hear anymore. Dropping her hands, she turned around towards Fox and glared at him. "Why did you do that!?" “What? No “I missed you, Fox. Gimme a big smooch.’,” Fox asked in a hurt voice. “Besides, did you expect anything else from lovable little me?” Hopping down from the shelf Fox relocated to where Raven had set her camera down. “So what have you been up to while I’ve been away?” He gave a poke at the camera with a paw which of course went right through it. "Yeah, real lovable," Raven grumbled, watching him with her a camera for a moment. She was thankful he couldn't actually touch it. "Oh just the usual. Work, taking pictures. Been working with Casey on controlling his inner wolf." Unwrapping the scarf from around her neck, she dropped it on top of Fox and watched it go through him before taking off her coat. “Oh, is Casey his name? Say no more, say no more. Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge. If you know what I mean.” Fox couldn’t help but give Raven a hard time. Hopping down off the table Fox landed on the floor and sauntered along behind Raven. And just how did that work anyway? He couldn’t tough anything and stuff passed through him but he could walk on the ground or other surfaces just fine. Hundreds of years and he still hadn’t figured that out and nobody back at the head office would tell him either. The bastards. And why did they say he was failing as Raven’s spiritual guide and stick him behind a desk for a while as punishment? Of course that was simply how he had perceived everything. As he followed behind Raven he grumbled to himself without paying attention to where he was going. Raven just rolled her eyes and she made her way towards her bedroom. Sitting down on the bed she worked on taking off her boots. "Casey is not his name for these is nothing going on with Casey. Casey is Sophia's mate and I think if anyone dared look at him with such ideas she'd rip them apart," she pointed out. No, Carver was his name and smiled to herself as remembered their parting kiss. “Well then what is the lucky fella’s name then? Might as well tell me now because I’m going to find out anyway. Even if it takes me singing the entire sound track to Grease. And you know I will,” Fox warned in a jovial tone. The groan that came from Raven was proof enough that she knew he would. Once the boots where off, she fell back against the bed. "Fine! Fine! His name is Carver. And don't you dare try and ruin it this time. I mean it. Besides, he already knows all about you." “You what?! He does?! And he hasn’t had you committed yet? That’s not normal. He has to be up to something,” Fox mused. “Probably waiting until after he gets into your pants. Wait here, I’ll go rummage through his garbage and invade his privacy to confirm my suspicions.” With a rapid spin Fox hurried out of the room. Raven didn't bother getting up to chase after Fox. In fact, she just laid there looking up at the ceiling enjoying the five seconds of peace before he'd come rushing back into the room. After all, it wasn't like he knew where to look or who he was spying on. Just as Raven has figured Fox re-entered the room looking as embarrassed as a Fox could. Leaping up onto the bed he curled up into a ball and hid his face with his tail. “Okay, I’ll leave him alone,” Fox sighed. “For now.” His little body shook as he let out an evil laugh. "That includes you staying here when we go out. Which I have a date tomorrow...well later today," Raven mused given the time. Turning on her side, she propped her head up with her hand and looked at Fox. "And if you behave I'll take you to Ducky's." Fox’s head popped up but then his eyes narrowed. “You’re just trying to get rid of me. Is there something wrong with this Carver guy? Besides having a really weird name? Does he have a hunchback? Or maybe a he’s a conjoined twin? Come on I need details here,” Fox whined. "There's nothing wrong with him. It's you that I'm worried about," she pointed out, not denying the fact that she was just trying to get rid of him. "He's human but comes from a family that's supernaturally different. Happy now?" “Y-you don’t want me around anymore? Am I that bad of a person,” Fox voice shook. “But if you don’t need me then I’ll-” The last words Fox spoke faded out just as his body suddenly grew transparent then vanished from sight. His disappearance was accompanied by the sound of a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of a tree. “What do you mean supernaturally different?” Fox suddenly reappeared sitting right in front of Raven’s face. "They're all demons," Raven said then shook her head. "Just humans that are supernaturally touched. Witches, psychics. Things like that." “Is that so,” Fox said mostly to himself then moved away from Raven’s face. “I can work with that.” Raven didn't like the sound of that. Mostly because it sounded like he planning something. "What do you mean you can work with that? I mean Fox. Leave this one alone." “Well since you asked me so nicely and I’m such a giving person. Okay. I won’t do anything to drive him away. Unless I find out some dirty little secret he has,” Fox added. Poor Carver was probably never going to have any privacy now and wouldn't even know it as Fox tried to dig up some dirt on him. "Well you can just ask him if he has any dirty little secrets some time at Ducky's. He's willing to put himself through the torture of meeting you." “There’s definitely something wrong with the guy. Must be a masochist.” It was nice to see Raven so happy about meeting someone but as always since as long as he’d been her spirit guide through her many lives it caused him some discomfort. "Well then lucky for me otherwise he might go running the moment he meets you," Raven pointed out. Rolling back on to her back, she looked up at the ceiling and smiled. "There's nothing wrong with him. He's great. Wonderful even." There was a dreamy sound to her voice as she said it. Fox suddenly made some odd gagging sounds then bolted from the room and into the bathroom. A few moments later sounds of Fox throwing up could be heard. After a minute Fox reappeared in the bedroom and hopped up on the bed. “You might want to flush the toilet,” he commented. Of course he hadn’t really thrown up. He’d have to save that for Ducky’s. Raven grinned, happy that she could get to Fox for a change. "So I guess this means you'll be willing to stay home this afternoon and leave me to have my date in peace. Cause you know, there might kissing and I'd hate for that to upset your sensitive stomach." “I’ll stay home on one condition. I get to meet the new boy toy,” Fox demanded. “Otherwise you get to have a permanent third wheel attached to your hip. A very loud one that will have no problems brining up all kinds of embarrassing topics about your past.” "You will," Raven promised. "I already said he's willing to meet you I mean it. He's agreed to go to Ducky's so he can put himself through the torture of listening to you. Besides, what are you, my dad now?" Raven turned her head to the side so she could look at Fox. “If I was I’d be sitting on the porch with a shotgun in a real body and not one covered in fur that almost nobody can see or touch. Actually I could still do the shotgun thing at Ducky’s. You wouldn’t happen to know where to get one do you,” Fox asked as he rolled onto his back on the bed. "No," Raven answered dryly while giving Fox a look that said don't even think about it. "Come on, Fox. Can't I for once have something in life? I'm not asking to date around. I just want to date this one guy. Have I ever asked for that in any of my lives? Not in a single one have I ever had children. And why is that...besides the me usually ending up dying young thing." “Usually because you end up doing something stupid,” Fox grumbled under his breath then continued in a louder voice. “Fine, you’ve guilted me into behaving. But if this guy turns out to be hideous all bets are off.” "Thank you. Cause I really like him." Rolling over, Raven placed a kiss over Fox's head. I guess this means I won't have to try and shave you bold at Ducky's now. Almost a shame. I wanted to see if the hair would grow back as soon as we left." “Try that and you’ll never get a minute of sleep again in this life and the next,” Fox warned before playfully throwing a paw up at Raven’s face. Raven laughed, rolling away. "I'm hoping to lose some sleep but not because of you," she teased. “Gah! Don’t need to hear that,” Fox complained before stuffing his pays into his ears. “Not listening! Lalalalalalalalala!” Grinning, Raven laughed again. Of once she got to torment him. "So I guess this means you won't be joining us for smoochies." “Only if I get to bite,” was Fox’s reply. "Nope, sorry. No biting for you," Raven said before she sat up. "Now Carver on the other hand..." She looked back and grinned at Fox before getting up. "I'm going to change and then get some sleep. Big day and all tomorrow." “Yep, you’ll need to get lots of sleep or you’ll look like the living dead tomorrow.” There was a slightly evil tone in Fox’s voice. Raven glared over her shoulder at Fox as she got out some pjs. "Living dead with a flat chest right?" "That's right," Fox confirmed. Sticking her tongue out at Fox, Raven started to the bathroom so she could go get ready for bed. "You just stay out here. Nothing to see and all." “Eh, already seen everything anyway.” "Don't remind me you peeking fox," Raven replied before disappearing into the bathroom. |
